However modern science is not sure about it, many times reports come in about the ill effect of non veg diet. Some study shows processed meat is harmful. It also says red meat is cancer causing. Latest report shows meat reduces longevity and increases heart disease and obesity. It has lots of saturated fat in it. It also causes diabetes and arthritis. It also has ill effect in our environment.
In conclusion, the general view point of modern science says that lean white meat are safe and rich in protein and other vital nutrient.
- Vegetarian
You won't to believe in 19th century about 70% of people of our country were vegetarians whereas 30% where non veg. However, now these number have changed a lot.
According to Ayurveda and some research, plant-based wholesome diet is best. It suggests food should not be considered just nourishment for body but also vibration for mind. Then negative vibration of animal while being sortered comes to our body after eating their meat. It recommend getting protein from living food like pulses, sprouts and not dead meat. Some saints and sages profound that nature of human being is more like herbivorous animal. Vegetarian diet detoxify for our body and mind. In case of dairy product, cow has been considered like a mother since ages. Our scripture highly recommend drinking pure cow milk, it's ghee compared to nectar.
Now a days vegetarian diet are also not totally free of violence. Milk giving animals like cow and buffalo are artificially inseminated for milk and their calf do not get enough milk for our appetite. Many bees are killed during honey collection. Nowadays many cases of adulteration of milk and honey is coming up. Moreover you have to be extra careful in your nutrition intake.
In conclusion, according to Ayurveda man who is most evolved animal should eat consciously creating least amount of violence. For optimal physical and mental health non veg food should be avoided. However, choice rest in the person hand and it shall be the consequences.
