1) Visit your Doctor frequently
It is recommended to follow all the advice and recommendation of your doctor and never miss an appointment with them. It is recommended to visit your doctor every month till the 7th month of your pregnancy, then every 15 day in 7th and 8th month and every week in the last month of your pregnancy
Also, it is not recommended to change your doctor every now and then as they will keep your track.
2) Sleep
A good amount of sleep is very much needed during pregnancy. As your body is working hard to build a life within yourself, so a major chunk of your energy gets spent in it which may lead to tiredness. Also, it is during sleep where most of the development of baby occurs. So you should not compromise on your sleep during pregnancy.
It's recommended to take about 8 to 9 hours of sound sleep during pregnancy and also take a short nap during day if needed.
3) Wear loose clothing
Many women have a habit of wearing tight clothes in the name of fashion. However it's ok rest of the time but not during pregnancy.
Wearing tight clothes during pregnancy can put a negative impact on the development of your baby. Wrong clothing can also suffocate both you and your baby. Tight clothing can put undue pressure on your baby and also restrict your blood flow on the skin which is not good at all especially during this period of time.
Also, wearing wrong footwear can put painful pressure on your feet.
So, it's best to avoid tight clothes and heeled footwear during pregnancy.
4) Meditation and Exercise
Moreover, healthy amount of exercise is also important during pregnancy. Many women during pregnancy spend whole day lying on the bed thinking that they need to which is not good for their health.
Exercise will boost blood circulation and increase the oxygen level inside your body. It will also make you happier and prevent depression. Exercise will increase the strength of mother helping in curbing the demands of labour and motherhood.
Moreover, it is proved that the mother who exercise during pregnancy has higher chance of normal delivery and do not face much problems during delivery.
5) Proper Hydration
Proper hydration is very important for a pregnant women. A women cannot afford dehydration during there pregnancy.
Proper hydration with maintain the level of amniotic fluid in the womb. Dehydration may lead to morning sickness, tiredness, cramps and contraction during the second and third trimester.
Moreover, the demand of water increases during pregnancy. So, it is adviced to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.
6) Nutrition
Mother should take 4 to 5 well-balanced meal reaching all macro and micronutrients. Special care should be taken of Protein consumption as it is very important during pregnancy and its deficiency can lead to complication. Milk, eggs, meat, lentils, whey protein etc. are excellent source of protein.
Junk, processed and sugary food should be avoided in every manner.
7) Prenatal supplements
During pregnancy the vitamins and minerals that we get from our food is not quite sufficient for mother and baby so, the doctor would prescribe some supplements. This may include iron, calcium and other multivitamin supplement which should be taken as prescribed by the doctor.
This will ensure that you and the baby are getting all the required nutrient needed by their body which intern will help to prevent birth defect, mental retardation and any other complication during delivery.
